History

My husband and I began making mosaics for family and personal use as a hobby. Our very first projects were trivets using glass tile, plywood, thin set mortar and simple grout. For those that don't already know, trivets are those objects placed under hot pots and pans to protect the countertop or table. We've come a bit further since those first pieces.
It's Wet, Messy Work
Mosaics are beautiful. The work getting to the end result? Not so much. It's laborious, tedious, takes time and can wear on your body depending upon what and where you're trying to accomplish.
This is why hiring someone else to do it for you is often the best solution. Additionally, mosaics, tiling and artistry is a combination of skills and talents that aren't easily or quickly combined in a successful way. Just tiling floors, walls and ceilings is laborious, while requiring an eye for geometry.
